I often struggle with the meaning of visual cues when I look at other photographers' images — cues such as context, syntax, color, black and white tonality, size, cropping, sequencing, subject, etc. These cues combine with each other and give meaning to the image. I recognize visual cues easily, but have great difficulty understanding their implied meaning. The portfolio titled "Missing Information" is about my creating cues as well as my deliberate confusing of these cues, so that the meaning of the image is diffused.
